Elizabethtown, KY (Jan. 17, 2017) –Taylor County High School won the Battles in the Bluegrass Play of the Season, receiving over 9,000 votes in the final round. The school’s athletic department was awarded $2,000, double the winning amount in past years.
Battles in the Bluegrass is Bluegrass Cellular’s initiative to strengthen and grow local high school athletic programs. “Investing in our community, in particular the students of central Kentucky, is important to Bluegrass Cellular,” said Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bluegrass Cellular. “We will continue investing in student athletes to ensure they’re able to excel and succeed in athletics and life.”
“We are thankful for the opportunity Bluegrass Cellular provided our football team,” said Laura Benningfield, principal at Taylor County High School. “We appreciate the $2,000 check, and that money will benefit the kids in our football program. I would also like to say thank you to the many parents and supporters of TC football that voted for Justice “Juice” Harrison for the Bluegrass Cellular Play of the Season.”
The Taylor County football team was presented with a check and swag bags on January 13.
