Lindsey Sewell Announced as Winner of
WBKO FOX’s The X Factor Audition Pass Contest
Bowling Green, Ky.—Lindsey Sewell from Bowling Green, Kentucky has been announced as the winner of WBKO Fox’s The X Factor Audition Pass Contest locally sponsored by Bluegrass Cellular.
Sewell won travel and hotel accommodations to The X Factor auditions in Dallas, Texas on May 26 where she will audition for the show’s producers for a spot in the singing competition. She was also awarded prize package from Bluegrass Cellular that included a Motorola Xoom™ tablet. The Motorola Xoom is the world’s first tablet with Android 3.0.
“We had some incredibly talented individuals audition for the contest and Lindsey just blew us away,” said Donna Wills, district manager for Bluegrass Cellular who helped judge the contest. “We hope she can advance in the competition and that she knows her hometown will be cheering for her along the way.”
Sewell, a 23 year-old student at Genesis Career College studying massage therapy, was chosen from among dozens of contestants that submitted a 90-second audition video for the contest. Ten finalists performed for judges at a live audition on May 13.
Sewell has been pursuing a career in music for 10 years. She sings both country and Christian-influenced music.
“I am really excited that I was chosen as the winner of the contest and that I will have the opportunity to audition for The X Factor show,” said Sewell. “I have been singing since I was 13 years-old and it has always been my dream to sing professionally.”
The X Factor, which debuts on Fox this fall, is Simon Cowell’s newest singing competition. The show’s grand prize winner will receive a $5 million recording contract from Sony.
