Bluegrass Cellular Subscribers Can Support Japan Relief Effort

“HLP JPN” text donation campaign implemented.

Bluegrass Cellular, Inc. is offering customers a way to donate to the ongoing relief efforts in Japan, stemming from the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck the country last week. Donations will support two charities, Save the Children and ACF International.

Customers interested in supporting the relief effort can text “Japan” to “4357” to donate $10. Customers will then receive a text message prompting them to reply with “yes” to confirm their donation. Motorola Milestone users will need to compose a new message to confirm their donation with “yes.” Standard text messaging rates will apply. Bluegrass Cellular will send 100 percent of the donated funds to Save the Children and ACF.

“We are extremely concerned for the welfare of the children and families affected by this natural disaster,” said Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Bluegrass Cellular. “We know our local community is looking for ways to help, so we developed this campaign to give them a quick and easy way to donate.”

Save the Children is committed to saving lives with food, medical care and education. The independent organization has mobilized its global resources to respond to the urgent needs of families dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. ACF, an international humanitarian organization, is fighting against hunger and malnutrition among the victims in Japan.
