The community is invited to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Bluegrass Cellular Inc., a cellular service provider and pioneer of wireless technology in rural Kentucky, on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the company’s Elizabethtown headquarters, located at 2902 Ring Road.
The free, family-friendly event is a celebration of customer loyalty and support. Activities will include free phone cleaning & diagnostic testing and live DJ throughout the entire event. Customers can also compete in activities and games throughout the day for a chance to win a variety of prizes. A free lunch, featuring sandwiches from Hardin County Beef Producers, will be served from noon to 2 p.m.

Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Bluegrass Cellular, Inc., will deliver brief remarks at the anniversary celebration event at 11 a.m. Nothstine is expected to be joined by Tim C. Walker, Mayor of the City of Elizabethtown.
In addition to the event at the Elizabethtown headquarters, celebrations will take place at all Bluegrass Cellular Customer Care Centers throughout the company’s 40-county service area. Festivities will include a free lunch from noon to 2 p.m., customer giveaways and sales promotions.

Celebration Continues with Mark Chesnutt Concert
The Bluegrass Cellular anniversary celebration will continue on Saturday, May 21 at the Historic State Theatre in Elizabethtown where Bluegrass Cellular is the sponsor of two, back-to-back performances by country music star Mark Chesnutt.

Bluegrass Cellular was the first cellular carrier to provide analog cellular network service in rural Kentucky. Since the initiation of wireless service in the spring of 1991, the Bluegrass Cellular wireless network has grown to provide local network coverage to a population base of over one million people in the 40 counties within its license areas.
