Elizabethtown, Ky. (May 12, 2011) – Bluegrass Cellular has expanded its third-generation (3G) evolution-data optimized (EVDO) high-speed wireless service in Hardin County. The expansion will add and improve coverage to the communities of Vertrees, Constantine, and Custer.
The upgrades will also add 3G EVDO coverage along KY 86 between Salt River Road and KY 690.
The expanded service means Bluegrass Cellular customers will experience faster picture and video messaging, faster game and ringtone downloads, faster wireless air cards for laptop computers and faster data speeds for PDAs and smartphones.
“We continue to extend our EVDO coverage to provide our customers with the latest technology and high-speed service they expect from their wireless carrier,” said Barry Nothstine, vice president of sales and marketing, Bluegrass Cellular. “This expansion is part of our ongoing commitment to network enhancement and customer satisfaction.”
Bluegrass Cellular’s advanced 3G service provides speeds of up to 800+ kbps (kilobits per second) for phones and up to 1.2+ mbps (megabits per second) for PDAs, smartphones and wireless aircards.
