Brownsville, Ky. (May 5, 2011) – Bluegrass Cellular has expanded its third-generation (3G) evolution-data optimized (EVDO) high-speed wireless service in Edmonson County. The expansion will add and improve coverage in the city of Brownsville and the western Mammoth Cave National Park area.
The upgrades will also add 3G EVDO coverage along KY 259 between Nolin Dam Road and Chaleybeate Road. The expanded service means Bluegrass Cellular customers will experience faster picture and video messaging, faster game and ringtone downloads, faster wireless air cards for laptop computers and faster data speeds for PDAs and smartphones.

Bluegrass Cellular’s advanced 3G service provides speeds of up to 800+ kbps (kilobits per second) for phones and up to 1.2+ mbps (megabits per second) for PDAs, smartphones and wireless aircards.
