Bluegrass Cellular Customer Wins Vizio HDTV

Bluegrass Cellular Subscribers Can Support Nonprofit Organizations with Text to Donate Campaigns

Bluegrass Cellular customers can make a difference in their communities by donating to nonprofits of their choice through a simple text message.  Charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations can be made via mGive short codes—keywords established by nonprofits.

mGive is an organization that assists nonprofits in their efforts to raise money and communicate with donors more effectively through the mobile channel.  mGive works with more than 100 nonprofit organizations in the United States.  For example, to support the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, text MUSIC to 50555 to donate $10.  The donation would then be recorded on your next cellular phone bill and 100 percent of the funds are given to the selected charity.

“Text donations are a quick and easy way to make a charitable contribution to nonprofit organizations,” said Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Bluegrass Cellular. “You don’t need a postage stamp or a check to support a great cause in your community, just your cell phone.”

mGive is the leading source of mobile donations in the U.S., and is responsible for raising more than 85 percent of all funds raised to date through the mobile giving channel.
